To provide healthcare support workers and adult social care workers with an overview of the subject, enabling an understanding of Care Planning.

Care planning, involvement and person-centred care

This section explores four key themes that are central to care planning: involvement, and keeping the wishes of the person at the centre of their care and support. It emphasises that building relationships and good communication are critical to meaningful involvement.


The course is Accredited by Advantage Accreditation.

What does the course include?

  • To understand what care plans are and why they are needed.

  • To explain the four components of a care plan

  • To understand the key points of a care plan regarding how to record information

  • To understand the government's counter-terrorism strategy ‘Prevent’

  • Be able to explain the rights and responsibilities of individuals

  • To know the importance of promoting and encouraging independence.

  • Consider those who work in partnership to achieve successful outcomes.
