Level 2 Administration of Medicines Training (Accredited)
Within the health and social care sector there is an increasing need for medication to be dispensed and given to service users. Increasingly evidence has shown that once the person administering the medication has completed a course they do not have regular updates, this has shown that it has caused safeguarding investigations.
As a care provider there is a responsibility in ensuring the competencies of staff to administer medication and provide a safe environment in accordance with the Care quality commission.
Our safe handling of medication is delivered by a registered nurse with extensive knowledge of medication. The course is suitable for both nurses and senior carers who dispense and administer medicines. we cover the legalities including the misuse of medication through to covert medication practices.
There is also a workbook document for assessment for each candidate to complete and to be signed to check competence by our nurse trainer.
Once staff have attended the course and their workbook has been signed by the trainer, you can feel confident in their practice.
